Sunday Supper - Super Bowl Edition!

I know, the big game is coming up.  I love staying at home for all the action.  I really love the commercials and the half time show, I will be honest!  But, the food is so important.  You want dishes that will last all night, but that you can munch on all through out the game.  As many of you know, I am sure, the game can take upwards of 8 hours from pregame to postgame.  So this is my FAVORITE go to quick and easy recipe.
It is a great dip with chips and is a great meal on it's own.
You mix together:
1 cup of cooked rice
1 can of whole kernel corn
1 can of black beans or kidney beans
1 cup of shreded cheese
1 pound of cooked ground beef
1 container of medium salsa
Mix together and heat in microwave.
Simple and delish!  With the salted chips, you are all set!  Feel free to change or add quantities.
Enjoy and check out my FREE super bowl party circles!!!  Find them here...whether Steelers or Packers, I got you covered.  If you need table cards, just email me and I will send them off to you for FREE!!!! serena@ryliebooevents.com

Sunday Supper - Pasta Bar!

Hi Everyone!
This weekend, I was lucky enough to have all of my husband's cousins and their wives over for a night of food, games and fun!  I decided to throw a "real" party and set up a spread!  It was sure fun.  We did a Wine and Cheese Party and have pasta bar as the dinner.  This is my favorite, because I love my warming trays.  I wish I could explain love like this...I mean LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!  I have two that look kind of like this IMAGE OF Professional Buffet Server/ Warming Tray
I use them all the time and they are perfect for pasta bar.  I make two sauces, white and red ( spicy red bell pepper) that way people can make pink if they wish.  I make two noodles, penne and spaghetti and then ravioli.  Then people can mix and match what they want for food.
It is so much easier than a sit down and people can really eat!!!!
Ok...so here is my recipe for alfredo sauce...it was marketed as"better than Olive Garden" that is a big promise.  It is delish!

Ingredients:

DIY Thursdays - Snowflake Hearts

I came across this on one of my favorite blogs!!!  Thank you Party Starters for letting me share with my readers!

Snowflake Hearts {Tutorial Tuesday}

With Valentine's Day right around the corner I wanted to create a fun projects that all of my kids could help me create. The collaboration of paper snowflakes and hanging hearts popped into my head! My older kids had no problem with cutting these, but my 6 year old had a hard time cutting through all of the layers. I had her point out where she wanted me to cut and when we were finished she got to open it up and see the design "she created"! Here is how I did it...

Step 1. Using a piece of 8.5" x 11" copy paper pull one corner over to the opposite side, create a triangle

Step 2. Cut off excess strip of paper. when you unfold your triangle you will have a perfect square

Step 3. Take your triangle, holding onto the folded side cut a large tear drop shape. When you open up your paper you will have a heart shape.

Step 4. Take the point of your tear drop and fold your paper upwards a little over half way and crease.

Now Flip your paper over

Step 5. Flip over your paper and fold your paper in half vertically.

Step 6. Start cutting out small tear drop shapes along the sides of your "cone shaped paper".
Make sure not to cut off your folded sides completely or your heart will fall apart.

Step 7.  Open up your paper and check out your design!

Cut out different shaped hearts each time in a variety of colors. Then using ribbon or fishing line hang your hearts at different lengths from the ceiling to create a fun mobile. These would also be an adorable decoration taped to windows, walls and doors OR made into a fun bunting.

Pam said "The best part is that all of those little tear drops you cut out, make great heart confetti to put in with your Valentine cards! I hope you try out this fun and easy project."
Thank you so much and send me your pictures of snowflaked hearts!!!

Enjoy!

2 Features and a little DIY love!

Hi everyone...
I know that Thursdays is suppose to be DIY night, but with the posting of my Crush Party things got a little mixed up!
So...I was thinking, on a long weekend, Saturday is still plenty of time for you to get crafting!
I wanted to make these for my Valentine's shoot, but ran out of time.  Martha takes simple things and makes them so unique.  I will be doing these for my spring collection in March!

Bonbon-Filled Hearts
Surprise a loved one by hanging a heart-shaped container filled with candy on his doorknob or near his computer.

1. Fold and unfold a square of plain or patterned lightweight card stock to score it as pictured.

2. Fold the card stock in half vertically, and open.

3 Fold it horizontally.

4. Open.

5. Draw two opposite corners of the square inward, tucking in the other two corners.

6. Trace the heart template, below, and cut out.

7. Slide fold A behind fold B.
8. Hold in place. Then use a hole punch to pierce both; thread a ribbon through, and tie. Fill both sides of the heart with candy.

All the "as seen as" can be found here!  I love me some Martha!

Check out my Crush Party Features....I am so blessed! Thank you ladies!

Enjoy your long weekend and look out for Sunday Supper...it is a delish new dessert!!!
